Kathleen (Kathy) Karam, Kathleen (Kathy) Karam,80, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 in her home, after a short illness surrounded by her family. Kathy was born in Akron, Ohio on August 12, 1937. She lived most her life in Copley and graduated from Copley High School with the Class of 1955, where she was elected as May Queen.

Kathy was an unselfish, devoted, hardworking wife and mother, especially with her handicap son, Donald. She and her husband Jim shared their own custom drapery shop for 20 years, “Excell Custom Draperies”. Kathy and Jim were high school sweethearts and celebrated 61 years of marriage.

She will be remembered for her love of family, butterflies and anything that sparkles. Preceded in death by her mother, Alma Tyner-Michaels; father, Aubrey Tyner; sisters, Donna Fotion and Charlotte Clair She is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years, James (Jim) Karam; daughter, Sherry (Karam) Nelson; son, Donald Karam; grandchildren, Kyle (Erin) Nelson and Tyler (Britany) Nelson; brother, Aubrey (Pat) Tyner; sister, Judy (Steve) Avelino, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed dearly and forever in our hearts.

Calling hours 6-9pm Thursday at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd in Fairlawn, where funeral services will be held at 11am Friday. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
