Kathleen ‘Kitty’ Meredith Markell was born in Grafton, North Dakota on August 21, 1954 to Bernice S. and Frank ‘Bud’ D. Fischer. Kitty passed away on January 8th at St. Charles Hospital in Prineville, Oregon. She had been a resident of Prineville tor 38 years.

Kitty was married to Steve Markell for the past 31 years. In her working career, Kitty was a licensed CNA, Caregiver, and credentialed beautician. She took pride in doing volunteer work for several charitable organizations throughout Prineville, including Redemption House, which provides services to homeless women.

Kitty loved arts and crafts, and was an artist herself. She also enjoyed her vacations at the coast. Kitty is survived by her husband Steve; sister Cindy; sons Chris, Dwight and Brooks; daughter Stephanie; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

A service will be held on January 12th at 1 PM at: First Baptist Church 450 SE Fairview St. Prineville, Oregon 97754 A reception will be held after the service at the church.
