It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen “Kitty” Mcsweeney (Griffin) announces her passing after brief battle with cancer November 4, 2018 at the age of 57 years. Kitty was born on December 27th 1960 to James D. Griffin and Florence Griffin Caza in Syracuse New York. Kitty attended Roosevelt High school in Syracuse New York.

Kathleen and Daniel moved to Virginia in 1989 and continued to reside until her death . She enjoyed Nascar Racing and her favorite football team was Pittsburgh Steelers. She always loved bingo and the outdoors, camping ,fishing , and family get togethers.

She loved celebrating the holidays. Kathleen was predeceased by: parents, James D Griffin (1997); Florence Griffin (Caza 1981); sister, Sharon D. Thomas (Griffin) (1978); and brother, Daniel J. Griffin (2016). Kitty will be lovingly missed and remembered by: husband and best friend of 43 years, Mr. Daniel T. Mcsweeney; son, Chad Mcsweeney; daughters, Crystal Plamer (Mcsweeney), Robin Mcsweeney, Rebecca Minns (Mcsweeney) , and Nicole Mcsweeney; sisters, Caren Chan (Griffin), Maureen Cepeda (Griffin), and Colleen Rodriguez (Griffin); and brother, John Griffin.

Kitty will also be fondly remembered her: 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of in laws, nieces nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extented family. Viewing will be on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 from 1:00 to 6:00 at M.E. Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 at 1:00pm at M.E. Fisher Funeral home 2117 Madison Ave, Newport News, VA, Pastor Morris Randall, officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery at 3:00. Repass will be Held at Queen Way Soul Café, 1144 big Bethel Road. Hampton VA.
