Obituary for Kathryn E. Smith Kathryn E. Smith, (Nee: Bouchard) of South Amboy, NJ passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 66. Kathryn was born in South Amboy where she proudly lived for the rest of her life. She married the love of her life, Robert J. Smith IV on September 6th, 1975.

After graduating from Hoffman High School, Kathryn worked for 9 years at Johnson and Johnson in NYC in customer service. The couple then welcomed their children Christopher and Suzanne at which time Kathy became a dedicated stay at home mom who often had a house full of family. She loved being involved with her children as a member of the PTO, as a class mom and as the Vice President of the South Amboy Youth Baseball Women’s Auxiliary Club.

She was a dedicated member of the Christ Church congregation where she volunteered much of her time running the thrift store and baking for the Bread Bakers group. Perhaps one of her favorite roles was as Grandma to her three granddaughters. Kathryn is predeceased by her parents, William and Kathryn Bouchard, her brother Gary Bouchard, sister-in-law Clare Bouchard, brother-in-law Charles Krzyzkowski.

She is survived by her devoted husband of over 40 years, Robert J. Smith IV, her loving children Christopher Smith, his wife Heather Frisbie, Suzanne Smith, her Fiancé Adam Huff; cherished grandchildren Amelia, Adelyn and Abigail Smith; her brothers William Bouchard, his wife Arlene and Paul Bouchard, his wife Mary: her dear sister Karen Krzyzkowski and sister-in-law June Smith Ernst; brother-in-law Raymond Dreyfuss, his wife Kathleen and countless caring nieces and nephews. A 10:30 AM funeral service will be conducted from the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Thursday, May 31, 2018 followed by an 11 AM Mass at Christ Episcopal Church, 220 Main Street, South Amboy. Kathy will be laid to rest at Christ Church Cemetery, Sayreville, NJ.
