Princeville – Kathryn Gertrude Doubet, 101, of Princeville, passed away at Christian Buehler Memorial Home in Peoria on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 4:15 a.m. Kathryn was born on July 23, 1916 in Metamora, Illinois to Joseph and Claire (Eichorn) Gangloff. She married Cloyd A. Doubet on July 11, 1936 in Metamora. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1999.

Kathryn and Cloyd farmed and milked cows, always working together. She was an avid quilter, who made one for each of her children… Read More » and grandchildren. She also made and donated many quilts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for fundraising.

She quilted for St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and was involved in the Stitch & Bitch Club. She was also involved with the Peoria County Home Extension, the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society and was a Laura Merrymakers 4-H leader. She is survived by three daughters, Pat (Mick) Crouch of Elmwood, Mary Lou (Lorris) Woodmancy of Mapleton, Judy Mitzelfelt of Bloomfield, Iowa and one son, Kenneth (Linda) Doubet of Elmwood; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren, and seven step grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was one sister, Helen Heiser; one brother, Paul Gangloff; and one great-grandson. A funeral for Kathryn will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Haskell-Hott Funeral Homes in Princeville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
