Kathryn E. “Kay” Kempiners nee Heitkotter, age 103, a resident of Lisle and formerly a longtime resident of Naperville, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at her home. She was born January 21, 1915 in Aurora. Kay was a graduate of North Central College in 1936.

Kay was an active parishioner and volunteer at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society and worked with the mission sewing group since 1962. She was a member of the Naperville Women’s Club since 1944 and served as president in 1955. She was a member of other area Women’s Clubs since 1940 and was President of the Past President’s Club of the Du Page County Federation of Women’s Clubs. She is survived by her son, Russell (Gudrun) Kempiners, Jr., her grandchildren Katrin and Dr. Nina Kempiners, a great-grandchild Emily Lou, a sister Georgene Carlini, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Kempiners, Sr. a daughter Mary Kay Kempiners and siblings John J. Heitkotter, Edwin Heitkotter, and Margaret Mary Heitkotter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth Street Naperville.

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes and Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Residence.
