Kathryn Kay Sparks, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at her home. She was born October 17, 1951 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Frederick Harry and Marcella May Blumberg Kunz. She married Steven Gregory Sparks.

Kathryn had lived in Cape for 7 years, having moved from the St. Louis area. She worked in nursing homes as an L.P.N. She was involved with SADI and was a member of Missouri Council for the Blind.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Tamara Vest of Cape Girardeau and two grandchildren, Alexander and Kristopher Vest. There will be a memorial gathering from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.
