Kathryn Louise Freistuhler Drees, also known as Pat, passed away on July 4, 2018, in Sidney, Ohio, at the age of 90 years. She was born on April 22, 1928, to the late Joseph and Lecta (Young) Freistuhler of Anna, Ohio. She graduated from Anna High School in 1946.

On December 15, 1947, she married the late Eugene Drees in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2001. Together, Pat and Eugene raised seven children.

Six of the children survives Pat: Ronald Joseph (Linda) Drees of Memphis, TN, Cristina Ruth (Marion) Brown of Sevierville, TN, Kelly Michael (Sharon) Drees of Sidney, OH, Robert Eugene (Karen) Drees of Botkins, OH, Melissa Ann (Neal) Yinger of Anna, OH, and Jerri Ellen Drees of Sidney, OH. A daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Lynn Topp and John Topp preceded her in death. A loving grandmother, Kathryn “Pat” is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

(Charles) Knight and sons of Murfreesboro, TN, Renee D. (Randy) Ballenger and children of Denham Springs, LA, David M. (Michelle) and son of Greenville, OH, Leslie M. Drees of Sidney, OH, Brandi N. Yinger of Kettering, OH, Rachel K. (Brandon) Meyer and children of Celina, OH, Ryan A. Yinger of Anna, OH, Zachary M. and children of Sidney, OH, Abigail N. Drees and children of Sidney, OH, Brittany D. Holloway of Sidney, OH, and Danielle K. Holloway and children of Sidney, OH. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Patricia “Tricia” L. Berger on February 21, 2017 and a grandson, Keith A. Topp on April 12, 1970. The youngest of a family of 13 siblings, Kathryn was also preceded in death by 7 sisters and 5 brothers, Jessie Ellen (Robert) Davis, Douglas (Dorothy) Freistuhler, Cleola (Allen) VanHorn, Elmer (Viola) Freistuhler, Emmeline (Carl) Cotterman, Virginia (Amil) Comer, Milton (Rosetta) Freistuhler, Gerald (Mary) Freistuhler, Cora (Albert) Bulle, Leona (Leo) Cathcart, James Franklin (Norma) Freistuhler, and Shirley (Willard) McKinney.

Pat, as she was lovingly referred to, was known for her red hair and love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a housewife taking care of her children and later worked in housekeeping for Days Inn in Sidney. She loved spending time playing bingo and euchre with her friends and family and reading.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 4 – 7 p.m. and Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 9 – 10:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney. Funeral services will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday with Pastor Kristopher Drees officiating. Internment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
