Kathy L. Smith, 76, formerly of Pekin, passed away Friday February 15, 2019 at her home in Rock Island. Per her wishes there will be no local services. Memorials may be left in Kathy’s name to Illinois Cancer Care.

Kathy was born on February 4, 1943 in Galesburg, the daughter of Harold and Katherine (Hickman) Spencer. She had been employed at the Carver Center, Proctor Hospital and Orthopedic Institute of Illinois, all of Peoria. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Kathy loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching Nascar, the Chicago Cubs and making stained glass lamps. Survivors include her daughters, Shelley Smith, Rock Island, Lisa (John) Slomba, Washington, IL, Stacey (Rick) Kelley, Rock Island; grandchildren, Kelsey, J.J., Cierra, Lindsey, Kristen, Alex, Delaney, Campbell, Caden; great grandchildren, Timmy, Jazlyn, Kamryn and Ksean. She was preceded in death by her parents.
