HARRISVILLE – Kathy R. Wescott, 59, of, Harrisville, NY, lost her two year, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg. The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Harrisville United Methodist Church with Rev. Tracy Cook, Pastor, officiating.

Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave. , Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. Kathy is survived by two sons, Rusty Ray Wescott and Nicholas Jake Wescott, both of Harrisville; two grandsons, Jadyn Forrest Wescott, and Rush Tamblin Wescott; her siblings and their spouses, Phillip and Susan Smith of Shortsville, NY; Linda and James Phillips of Columbia Station, OH; Billie and James Manchester of Harrisville; Charles P. Smith of Harrisville; James and Lisa Smith of Harrisville; Michelle and Kevin Virkler of Lowville; a brother-in-law, Pete Kempney; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Ray Wescott, who died on September 29, 2012; a sister, Virginia Malbouf Kempney; an infant brother, Wayne Paul Smith; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Smith.

Kathy was born on March 20, 1959 in Carthage, NY, a daughter of the late George and Marion Pitts Smith. She graduated from Harrisville Central School in 1977, and On October 7, 1978, she married John Ray Wescott at Harrisville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Janet Gibbs officiating.

Kathy raised her family and was a cook for the Sahara Restaurant, Carthage for many years, and had also cooked at other local restaurants. Kathy worked in the cafeteria at Harrisville Central School for the past several years. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed bargain shopping, her walks, her family, friends and especially spending time with her grandsons, her loves!

Kathy was a true inspiration to everyone around her, she will be greatly missed. Kathy’s family would like to give a huge thank you to Dr. LeLe and the nurses at the Winter Cancer Treatment Center in Ogdensburg, NY. Condolences may be made online at www.
