Mary Teal Lenahan, 83, of Glenfield, passed away from this life, peacefully in her home, with family at her side on Friday, December 28th, 2018. Mary was born on August 23rd, 1935, the daughter of the late John P. Teal, Sr. and Mary Hughes Teal. She graduated from Lyons Falls High School and CCBI in Syracuse.

From the time she was in high school, and until her retirement at the age of 79, she and her brothers managed, and greatly expanded the business started by their parents in 1926, Teal’s Express. On December 26th, 1955, she married Donald F. Lenahan at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lyons Falls. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Glenfield, and raised five daughters.

Mary and Don were married for over 55 years at the time of his death in 2011. Mary was also predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Lenahan Marolf, and her grandson Jordan Eric Brown; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Teal and Pork Teal. Left to mourn her passing, and celebrate her life, are her daughters and their husbands: Colleen and Terry Miller of Landisburg, PA; Karen and Bob Polett of Lititz, PA; Ellen Lenahan of Radcliff, Kentucky; and Erin and Bob Brown of Lowville.

13 grandchildren and their spouses: Matthew and Cortney Miller, Kevin and Kyle Miller, Zak and Emily Polett and Adam Polett, Michael and Leanne Lawlee, and Mandi Lawlee, JT and fiancé, Brittney, Justin and Bailey Marolf, and Gabriel, Jacob and Natalie Brown. Mary was also blessed with 7 great-grandchildren: Ryland and Mya Miller, Tyler, Kylie, and River Lawlee, and Jensen Marolf; and several wonderful nieces and nephews, a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gerald Van Nest of Lyons Falls; and three brothers and a sister-in-law, John Teal of Brantingham; Bob and Jean Teal of Lyons Falls; and Ed Teal of Punta Gorda, FL. Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. is lovingly handling arrangements for a service planned on Friday, January 4th at 11:00 a.m., with a gathering to immediately follow at the 3G Volunteer Fire Department in Glenfield.

There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made in her memory to the Lyons Falls History Association, P.O. Box 1, Lyons Falls, NY 13368. Per Mary and Don’s wishes; their family will gather this summer to spread their ashes, together with those of their beloved dog Jack, over their little piece of heaven on earth at Huckleberry Lake.
