BEAVER FALLS- Lillian “Lil” Irene Lyndaker, 84, formerly of the Cut-Off Road, Beaver Falls, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility where she has been a resident since April. Lillian was born on March 12, 1934 in Lebanon, PA, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Gertrude Heinbach Whitman. She attended local Lebanon schools and worked for a number of years for a frozen food business.
Lillian married Howard P. Lyndaker on October 3, 1954 at Steeltown Evangelical Congregational Church, Steeltown, PA. Howard and Lillian moved to the North Country after his military service and resided in Beaver Falls where they raised their family and had several business enterprises. Howard died on April 10, 2018.
Lil assisted her aging neighbors, visiting with them and doing light housework as needed. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and sewing, especially for her grand and great-grandchildren, canning, gardening, country music, word search, puzzles, and seeing her grand and great-grandchildren. She was especially known for her sharp wit and enduring sense of humor.
She is survived by her children Susan Lyndaker Lindsey of Evansville, Indiana, Patty (Carl) Delles of Glenfield, and Barry (Lynn) Lyndaker of Lowville; thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three sisters, June Trievel Hollinger and Trudy (Ronald) Firestone of Lebanon, PA, and Elaine (Woodrow) Shearer of Galeton, PA; in laws, Lena Yancey of Lowville, Kenneth (Deb) Lyndaker of Watson, Gladys Sweitzer of Big Bear, CA, Alta Noftsier of Lowville, Phyllis Lyndaker of Lowville, Catherine (Rexford) Dannon of Salisbury Center, Dorothy (Elmer) Zehr of Lowville, Helen (Loren) Unruh of Newton, Kansas, and Paul Lyndaker of Castorland, Fern Lyndaker of Turin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Howard Paul Lyndaker, Sr.; a sister, Evelyn Fields, brothers, Harry, Donald, Eugene, Herbert, and Larry; brother-in-laws, Edward Fields, Donald “Bud” Trievel, Donald Hollinger, David Lyndaker, Christian Lyndaker, Norman Lyndaker, Gerald Yancey, Jerry Schweitzer, Judson Noftsier, and sisters-in-law, Jennie Whitman, Jerry Whitman, Doris Whitman, Alameda Whitman, Cynthia Kay Whitman, Gail Lyndaker. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility for the attentive care and love that they extended to Lillian during her stay with them.
In keeping with Lillian’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Spring burial will be in Croghan Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
