LOWVILLE – Edward A. Lyndaker, 90, formerly of Brookside Circle and South State Street, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Lowville United Methodist Church. Spring burial will be at West Lowville Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, at the church. Contributions may be made to the Lowville United Methodist Church 7618 N State St, Lowville, NY 13367 or Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, Activities Fund, 7785 N. State Street, Lowville, NY 13367. He is survived by his two children, Bruce and Gloria Lyndaker of Lowville, Gail A. Klosner and her companion Steven Olmstead of Lowville; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Olin and Mary Lyndaker of Copenhagen, Harvey and Jan Lyndaker of Middleport, NY, Robert Lyndaker of Copenhagen, Carl and Tammy Lyndaker of Lowville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Arletha and Richard Bellinger of Lowville, Lois and Edward Clark of Jacksonville , FL, Doris Grysikiewicz of Anaconda, Montana, Carolyn McNeil of Lowville, Charlotte Millard of Lowville; a sister-in-law, Marlene Lyndaker of Lowville; two grandchildren, Sarah (Nolan) Lowe of Pleasantville, Matthew (Sarah) Klosner of Webster; a step granddaughter, Jennifer Bidwell; five great grandchildren, Molly, Julia, and Olivia Lowe, Daniel and Lillian Klosner; two step great grandchildren, Dakota and Cheyenne Rogers.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Kathryn;a son-in-law, Daniel Klosner; a step granddaughter, Terri Brockert; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Richard and Pauline Lyndaker and Elton Lyndaker; two brothers-in-law, Frank Grysikiewicz and Gerald Millard. Mr. Lyndaker was born on July 1, 1928 in Watson, NY, a son of the late Alexander and Phyllis Edick Lyndaker. He attended country school and graduated from Lowville Academy in the class of 1946 and worked for Harvey Stoffel a local cattle dealer from 1942-1954 .

On October 21, 1950 he married Kathryn M. Bellinger at his wife’s parents’ home with Rev. Roger Williams officiating. From 1954-1969 he was employed by Henry J. Nortz Inc. In 1969 he became a partner and Vice President in the business and the name changed to Nortz Distributing.

He retired from the business in 1991. He was a member of Lowville United Methodist Church for over 65 years and was a member of the church Booster’s Club. He was also a trustee at the church and served on various committees.

He was past member of the BPOE # 1605, Lowville Lodge. He was a longtime member of Harrisburg Grange, where he served as Master and held other offices until they disbanded. He was also a Pomona Grange member.

Edward enjoyed his family and helping them. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going on walks, spending summers at Brantingham Lake at their camp, traveling and helping others. He also enjoyed wintering in Florida with his wife after his retirement.
