Obituary for Keden Meyer Sportsman Keden Meyer Sportsman, age 16, of Glendive, Montana passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Glendive Evangelical Church with Pastor David Steinbron officiating. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Keden was born on March 15, 2002, a son of Benjamin Sportsman and Brandie Jo Hensman in Thermopolis, Wyoming. He lived in Worland, Wyoming for a couple of years before moving to Glendive where he has lived ever since. Keden was raised and educated in Glendive where he attended Dawson County High School.
Growing up Keden always had a love of music and was self-taught on numerous instruments although the drums were his favorite. During school he was a member of jazz band, pep band, drumline, concert band, and symphonic band. At the time of his passing Keden was an apprentice flooring installer for Cal’s Carpet.
He was a member of Muddy Boots 4-H Club, of which he was currently the treasurer and formerly the vice-president. Being a part of 4-H, he developed a love of horsemanship, leathercraft, and robotics. He also loved being able to work with his dogs with 4-H as well.
Keden will always be remembered as a smart, witty, and funny young man. He was also incredibly loving, caring and compassionate, and fiercely protective of his sisters. Keden was extraordinarily talented and his phenomenal drumming will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Erma Sams; great-grandfather, Leif Bakken; great-grandparents, Edith and Richard Sportsman; and aunt, Beth Beeler. Keden is survived by his father, Ben Sportsman of Glendive; his mothers, Britny Powell and Lacie (Bryan) Bennett of Glendive; his sisters, Kali and Kolbee Sportsman of Glendive; his honorary brother, Kyler Bennett of Glendive; his grandparents, Linda and Kent Hensman of Worland, Sherry & Roger Sportsman of Glendive, Denise and John Nielsen of Glendive, Kristi Powell of Glendive and Richy Powell of Billings, Montana; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
