Obituary for Ken Smith Ken Smith Family Man Lakeland – Kenneth E. Smith, 54, died suddenly on October 10, 2018. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 21, 1964 and moved to Naples, FL in 1978. He attended Barron Collier High School where he met his wife of 25 years, Christine (Ford) Smith.

Ken went on to attend the University of Florida where he earned a degree in business administration before starting his career with the family business, Smithbilt Industries Inc. of Auburndale. In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by his sons, Robert (Julie) Hartsmith and William Smith; parents, Donald and Jeanette Smith; and brother, Bryan (Missy) Smith. A funeral service will be held Monday (Oct.

15th)at 11:00 am, and a memorial gathering from 6:00-8:00pm, both at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Southeastern Guide Dogs. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ken Smith please visit our Sympathy Store.
