Obituary for Kenneth Alan Rhoten Kenneth Rhoten, 59, of Oskaloosa died Sunday morning, September 23, 2018, at his home in Oskaloosa. Kenneth Alan Rhoten, son of John Thomas and June Iola (Umble) Rhoten, was born June 7, 1959, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ken was raised in San Francisco, CA, Council Bluffs, and Knoxville, IA.

He owned and operated Rhoten Painting Service and Design for over 40 years in the Des Moines area. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool, darts, and basketball. He also enjoyed the company of his cats.

He is survived by his father, John Rhoten of Council Bluffs; his siblings: John Rhoten of San Antonio, TX, Linda O’Brien of Knoxville and Kathy Burtman of San Antonio, TX; a step-daughter, Shonette Ver Steeg of Oskaloosa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife, Linda. Ken’s body has been cremated.
