Kenneth Lee Barnes, husband of Marilyn Barnes, of Bangs, TX passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Abilene, TX. He was born February 16, 1956 in Shreveport, LA. to Roscoe David Barnes and Frances Joy Edgington Barnes, who both preceded him in death.

Mr. Barnes was a U.S. Navy veteran, and enjoyed telling others about his days serving on an aircraft carrier. He studied Biomedical Technology at Texas AandM University. In his later years, he and his wife traveled the country as long haul truckers, running team from coast to coast.

Mr. Barnes was known for his quick wit, great storytelling and his love for the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Barnes, stepdaughter Amanda (Curtis) Powell, stepdaughter Amber (Max) Robles, five step-grandchildren, one brother Rodney Barnes of Franklin, KY, two nephews and a niece. He also is survived by close friends and several “adopted” nieces and nephews.
