Kenneth Leroy Eubanks May 17, 1930 – May 04, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Kenneth Leroy Eubanks, 88, of McAlester, passed away Saturday here in McAlester. The family will welcome friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, at 1:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clint Gray officiating.

Pallbearers are Danny Eubanks, Johnny Watkins, David Gibbs, Randy Napier, Eddie Sanders and Colt Sanders. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Haywood/Arpelar Volunteer Fire Department. Kenneth Eubanks was born on May 17, 1930 in McAlester to Ellis Eubanks and Lora (Wilson) Eubanks.

He grew up and lived most of his life, in the Haywood/Arpelar area and attended Haywood School. He served the U.S. Air Force and then in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge. He and Edith Lorene Sanders were married on September 28, 1950.

He worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot as a fireman and then safety inspector until his retirement. He was a founder and Chief of the Haywood Volunteer Fire Dept for 50 years and was in charge of the Haywood Water Dept. for many years, as well as being active in other volunteer activities in Haywood.

He also enjoyed attending Bluegrass festivals all around the country. Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Patricia Fry; 3 grandsons and a granddaughter, Shannon, Michael and Brian Fry and Brandi Crawley; great grandchildren, Sabrina, Michael, Keaton, Kinsey, Klynton and Ayden; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jackie Edwards; brothers and sister-in-law, David Watkins and Ivan “Junior” Eubanks and Worletta; and several other in-laws. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Willard Imler; and a son-in-law, Roger Fry.
