Kenneth Warren Nichols, 96, of Olive Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2018 in Carlsbad. Kenneth was born on August 4, 1921 in Magazine, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his sons, David Nichols and Johnny Nichols and grandchildren: Jack Nichols, Freyja Wolf and Loren Medley.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, June; son, Oneal Nichols (Karen) of Washington; daughter, Judy Carter of Carlsbad; grandchildren: Max Nichols, Rachel Nichols, Jamie Nichols (Annette) and Jon Nichols, as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Kenneth served his country during WWII in the Army. He worked for 30 years at PCA Potash Mine as a mechanic before retiring.

Kenneth was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for many years. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Pence officiating.
