Obituary for Kim Francis Schneider Kim Francis Schneider passed away on July 9, 2018. Beloved husband of Rebecca Slifkin-Schneider. Former husband of the late Gayle Catorie Schneider.
Stepfather of Micah Coleman, Ari Coleman (Krista), Abigail Coleman, Sean Harrigan (Desiree), and Ryan Harrigan (Kimby). Step-grandfather of Silas Coleman, Abigail Harrigan, Aurora Harrigan, Colton Harrigan, and one expected grandchild. Son of the late Robert E. Lee Marius Schneider and Vivian Joyce Adair Schneider.
Brother of Alvin Schneider II, Cody Schneider, Timothy Schneider, Lori S. Ostrander, Roy Schneider (Jan), Stacey Schneider, and Tracey S. Landry (Stephen). Uncle of Ronald Ostrander, Christopher Ostrander, Lindsey Roberts (Jason), John Ostrander, Brandon Ostrander, Brittney Schneider, Vivian Schneider, Erik Landry, Amanda Landry, Stacey McCulloch, and the late Jason Ostrander. Great-uncle of Abigail, Ava, Aaliyah, Christopher Jr., Adalynn, Alysseah, Jason Jr., Braydn, Rachel, and Ryan.
Kim was born in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, raised in Terrytown, LA, and resided in Abita Springs, LA. He graduated from West Jefferson High School and joined the United States Air Force. There he completed technical school, and he was proud to have tested guidance and control systems for the space shuttle program as part of his training.
His career included employment as a computer programmer with companies such as Belle Chasse State School, Charity Hospital of New Orleans, and then retired from the United States Department of Agriculture at National Finance Center. He will always be remembered for his longtime love of Cajun dancing and music, and he will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11 AM.
