Kim Reisinger, 58, passed away on September 25, 2018 after a brief illness. She was loved by so many people – David, her husband of 29 years, her sister Robyn, as well as neighbors, coworkers, school friends, and many others who knew her. She was warm, funny, caring, giving, and forgiving.

Kim was born in Newton, Kansas on November 19, 1959. She grew up in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Wichita State and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.

Kim also received a Master’s degree in School Psychology from Emporia State University. Upon graduation, she moved to Kansas City and worked as a School Psychologist in the Shawnee Mission school district for over 29 years, a profession she loved and in which she excelled. Upon retirement in 2016, she and David moved to Jacksonville, Florida to enjoy the beach and warm weather.

Last spring, realizing she missed helping children, she renewed her career as a school psychologist with Clay County schools. Kim enjoyed life immensely. She loved entertaining, scrapbooking, bunco, dinner club, watching Chiefs football, time spent at the lake and on their boat, travelling – especially to Italy, and most of all, being with her husband and friends.

She also loved her home and spent much time with David making it a beautiful and comfortable place. She is preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis Weyand and Elmer Weyand, her uncle, Jimmy Bell, and her aunt, Hettie Lee Haughton. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Kansas City in late October. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
