Doug Stuart officiating. Services are under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Kim was born September 8, 1979 and died January 9, 2019. Kim loved her dogs, even when at times we thought she had too many, she would tell us she’s grown or mind our own business. She also loved to sit on her front porch and talk about when she and I were kids.

She liked to go to town with anyone who was going, even if she didn’t have any money. Kim especially liked going with dad because she knew she could get a hamburger out of the trip. But above all else, she loved her daughter, Lindsey.

They didn’t always see eye to eye, but she loved Lindsey so hard it hurt. She has had a hard battle with diabetes and she finally won. The last few weeks we have all been getting together for Sunday dinner.

We laughed and talked about the old days and we didn’t even argue, which for anyone who knows us knows that is saying something. Those memories will be with me for the rest of my life. Kim is preceded in death by grandparents: William Autrey Young, Mildred Margaret Young and Marjorie Ann Nichols and two uncles: Darrell Keith Young and Victor Glenn Young.

Kim is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Michelle Thomas; her father, Farrell Claude Young; her mother, Debbie Britt; Co-father , James (Jimmy) Britt; grandfather, Jerry Nichols; brother, Farrell Autrey Young; sister-in-law, Ginger Powell, nephews, Daniel & Noah Powell; four uncles, seven aunts, forty cousins and four dogs. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until service time Saturday at Owens Memorial Chapel.
