Obituary for Kitty Eleanor Hanson Mrs. Kitty Eleanor Roberts Hanson passed away after a brief illness on April 16, 2018 at Ochsner’s Hospital in New Orleans. , Louisiana. Kitty was born in Hammond, Louisiana but was raised on the Pascagoula River in Escatawpa.

She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and was a graduate of Moss Point High School. Kitty was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Kiki, as her grandchildren called her, loved shopping, fishing, feeding the fish, playing cornhole, and spending time with family.

Kitty maintained her sense of humor and silliness right up until the end. Kitty is preceded in death by her parents James Garner Roberts and Felicity Cooper Roberts as well as her youngest brother Ricky Dale Roberts. Kitty is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Charles Hanson and her children Elizabeth Jenne (Tony), Leigh Miller (Rachel Smith), Chip Hanson (Mashay), 9 grandchildren (Loren, Sarah, Hunter, Ty, Tommy, Hannah, Erin, McKenzie and Jack), 2 great grandchildren (Lainey and Landon), and siblings Garner Roberts (Patricia), Darrell Roberts (Ramona), Durwin Roberts and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life at The Old Landing, the home of George and Kitty at 3304 Roberts Road, Moss Point, Mississippi on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. The family asks that you bring a lawn chair as well as a positive and upbeat attitude. Kitty always loved a big happy gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider becoming a registered blood donor.
