OBITUARY Kristina “Tina” Carol Laurent April 1, 1957 – November 20, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Kristina “Tina” Carol Laurent, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Dear Friend peacefully left this earth after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma on November 20, 2018. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 37 years, David A. Laurent, sons Ryan (Christy), Kyle (Tianna) and Devin (Jenn) Laurent, three beautiful grandchildren, Rowan, Hadley and Knox Laurent. Siblings Kirk (Amy) Beckman, Julie (the late Rick) Leavenworth, Scott (Mary) Beckman, Wendy (Tim) Beckman, beloved Aunt Carol Beckman, Bob and Kathy Swiger, nieces, nephews, cousins, many wonderful lifelong friends, and her grand dogs Pickles and Eddie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Adela (Hollow) Beckman. Dave and Tina met at Central Michigan University, where she received her B.S. in Education in 1979. Tina was devoted to raising her sons and they and Dave were the loves of her life.

Tina was employed by McLaren Greater Lansing in the Clinical Education Department for 11 years. She was a long time volunteer for DeWitt Public Schools and a valued member of the DeWitt Board of Education for 11 years serving 4 years as President and the DeWitt Public Schools Foundation. Tina loved spending time with her family and friends, especially the Fifth Quarter, being at her home on Lake Mitchell in Cadillac and was always in search of a great bargain!

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 11:00am at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass and on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 3pm until 8pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be sent to McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation – Clinical Education, Sparrow Foundation Cancer Center Fund or the DeWitt Public Schools Foundation General Endowment Fund, in honor of Tina.
