Kurt Grade, beloved husband, father, son and friends, passed away early Friday morning, December 14th, 2018 after a lengthy battle with multiple health issues. He was 50 years old ( but didn’t look or act 50! ) Kurt was born on September 30, 1968, son of David Grade and Penny Allen Waranka.

He grew up in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1986, before attending school to become an EMT and Firefighter. Kurt also worked as an Emergency Room Tech for 16 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic, for being a leader in the midst of chaos, for being a mentor and for never sitting down.

Kurt’s claim to fame was his superior IV skills. Kurt was an amazing and devoted single father to his daughter Nicole, now age 26, until his marriage to his love Robin in September 2011. Their lives were blessed by the addition of their daughter Rylee, now age 5, in June 2013.

Kurt was a well known metal head. Kurt played bass guitar in a band when he was younger, and was even a roadie for a metal band. He attended countless rock concerts and was proud to show off his autographs and other rock memorabilia in his heavy metal mancave.

Kurt was an exceptional man, instantly loved by anyone who met him. His quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor never failed to make everyone laugh. He was greatly loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.

A Memorial Service will take place at 3PM on Saturday, December 22nd at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11313 N. Riverland Road in Mequon. Rev. Philip Hillenbrand will preside.

The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 12PM until 2:45PM, with a Fire Department walk-through scheduled for 2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. They may be made through Go Fund Me on the Kurt Grade Memorial Fund page ( https://www.
