LaMerle Jean Kendall October 05, 1922 – March 03, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card LaMerle Jean Kendall of Kasson, MN passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, March 3rd, 2019. LaMerle was born on October 5, 1922, in Ft. Dodge, IA to Bertha (Hale) and Heman Newsum.

She graduated from Ft. Dodge high school and then worked various jobs. During WWII she served her country by welding air frames for jet bombers at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines and assembling and filing machine gun bullets at the Ankeny Ordinance plant.

Following the war, she married Asa Kendall in Garden City, MN on June 22, 1947. She is survived by her 6 children: Carol (Gary) Briley, Judy (Elden) Royer, Allen (Glenda) Kendall, Curt (Sheila) Kendall, Bret Kendall and Anita (Ron) Stoudt; her grandchildren: Sarah, Joshua, Rachel, Brenda, Anthony, Duane, Allison, Andrea, Andrew, Rebekah, Abigail, Ryan John, Anthony, Reannah, Annah, Rosalee; step-grandchildren: Brian, Danny and Peter; 12 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Hicks; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 siblings, and one grandson.

LaMerle enjoyed flowers, sunrises and sunsets, children, reading, especially her Bible, and visiting with family and friends. LaMerle will be missed and remembered for her sacrificial spirit, thankfulness, and love and prayers for her family and friends. Good-bye Mom, Grandma, GG, LaMerle.

The family wishes to express gratitude to Evergreen Assisted Living Staff and Mayo Clinic Hospice for their compassionate and thoughtful care. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday March 8, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 304 4th St NW Kasson, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday March 7, 2019 at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE Kasson, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be held at 1:15 p.m. Friday March 8, 2019, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, assembly area 5. Blessed be her memory. www.
