OBITUARY LaNelle B. Lasseter December 30, 1927 – November 25, 2018 Marian LaNelle Bailey Lasseter passed away on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 at the age of 90. La Nelle was born on December 30th, 1927 in Fitzgerald, GA to her parents Miriam and Julius Bailey. She remained in Fitzgerald with her mother, father, and younger brother Edward where she became an elementary school teacher and mother to her two daughters Gwendolyn Bekemeyer (Fred) and Linda Yvonne Abernethy (Reggie).

Later, she moved away to build another life in Orlando, FL where she eventually met and married her second husband, Wilbur Lasseter (known to most as Hugh) who she remained with until his death in December of 2003. It is through her marriage to Hugh, she gained three step daughters Joy Irene Lasseter, Linda Hart, and Laura Liggett (Bob). La Nelle is survived by her brother, five children, six grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

She loved to cook, read, and play bridge with her friends. We will all remember her biscuits, pound cake, fruit cake, homemade cupcakes in the freezer any time you wanted one, and the calming southern environment she created. Her home was always warm and inviting to anyone who came for a visit.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 29 from 2 – 4 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Winter Garden, FL. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 1 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, GA.
