Mr. Larry Bates age 61 of Cedar Bluff passed away Friday January 18th at Cherokee Floyd Medical Center. Visitation will be 11 AM until 1 PM Sunday January 20th at Perry Funeral Home Parlor with Rev. Harold O’Neal officiating.

Survivors: Sons; Waldon Lipscomb, David Grindle, James Lipscomb, O’Neal Grindle; daughters; Jackie (Ray) Hulsey, Lorri (Josh Jackson) Bates of Centre, Tonya (Jody) Laney of Centre, Susan Lipscomb, Elaine Grindle and Nancy Workmen; brother, Tommy Bates; sister, Carolyn (Gwen) Abernathy; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Bates; son, Johnny Grindle and brother, Woody Bates. Mr. Bates was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Walter Harvey and Maltic Bell Autwell Bates and was of the Baptist Faith.
