Haviland, KS— Larry Bevan Sneed, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Pratt Health and Rehab. He was born November 24, 1942, the son of Raymond and Ada LaRue (Bevan) Sneed. On August 9, 1964, he married Jeanne (Becker) Sneed in Buhler.

She survives. Larry earned his Bachelor’s degree from Sterling College. He played football all through college until he got injured.

He was a Business Teacher for 4 years at Newton, 4 years at Larned, 1 year at Pratt and then returned to Larned for 2 more years. While teaching in Larned he was also an assistant football coach. Larry served on the Haviland Coop Board, previously known as Farmers Cooperative Company, for 24 years and was on the Kiowa County Conservation Board.

He enjoyed farming, motorcycles, attending his children and grandkids activities and watching college athletics. Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Haviland; daughters, Kayla (Tim) Paige of Delphos and Marci (Jay) Adams of Zenda; son, Stacy (Katherine) Sneed of Haviland; brother, Gary (Charlotte) Sneed of Lebo; sister, Marlene (Randy) Nolte of North Port, Florida; and grandchildren, Katie (Dustin) Danler of Lyons, Kelsie (Garrett) Klenke of Delphos, Ada and Henry Adams of Zenda, and Elizabeth, Tristan and Melanie Sneed of Haviland. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS, 67124. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at Haviland Methodist Church, Haviland. A private family burial will be at Haviland Cemetery, Haviland.

Memorials may be made to Haviland Friends Church Youth or Haviland Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.
