Celebration of Life for Larry Gene Patterson, age 65, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Shelton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon. Service will follow with Rev.

Wayne Newby and Rev. Jim Bryars officiating. Mr. Patterson, who died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at his residence, was born March 6, 1953, in Decatur, to Thomas Eugene Patterson and Mabel Campbell Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Patterson taught and coached at Brookhaven Middle School for 26 years; he also coached at Austin High School. Following retirement he worked at Enersolv.

He loved spending time with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Terri Patterson of Decatur; one daughter, Aimee Hopkins (Tony) of Decatur; one sister, Pam Baker (Ricky) of Trinity; two grandchildren, Jackson Williams and Julia Williams, both of Decatur; and one niece, Crystal Baker of Trinity. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, Hematology Department, at www.
