Funeral service for Shirley Lean (Coburn) Bryant, age 78, of Decatur, will be Sunday, October 28, 2018, 2:00 p.m., at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Helms officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Mrs. Bryant, who died Thursday, October 25, 2018, at her residence, was born January 16, 1940, in Lawrence County, to William Thomas Coburn and Synthia Elizabeth Mayfield Coburn. She was preceded in death by one son, Jack Oneal Thomas, her parents, and six siblings, Clayburn T. Coburn, Herman C. Coburn, Willie E. Coburn, Billy R. Coburn, Mary M. Coburn, and Alice S. Helms.

She is survived by one brother, Cleven James Coburn of Decatur; one sister, Veltie Mae (Coburn) Huggins of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, Rebecca Kay Thomas Bridges (David) of Decatur, Christopher Oneal Thomas (Christy) of Decatur, Eric Jason Thomas (Amanda) of Decatur, and Lisa Rena Thomas (Lamar Glover) of Decatur; seven great-grandchildren, Danika Kaye Bridges, James Anthony Thomas, Travis Oneal Thomas, Jack Emerson Thomas, Vincent Fox Thomas-Snook, Trenton Jet Glover, and Owen Blade Glover; and many nephews, nieces, and extended family. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
