Billington, 66, of Cherokee, KS, passed away at 9:33 a.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Pittsburg, KS. He was born October 21, 1952, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of Lawrence and Ruth (Wayenberg) Billington. In 1973 he was united in marriage to Mary Pat Hartwell they later divorced.

In 1999, he married Millie Highfield, she survives of the home. Larry worked for Union Pacific for 34 years retiring in 2013 In addition to his wife Millie, he is survived by his mother, Ruth Billington of Cherokee, KS, two daughters, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Richard of Wichita, KS, and Lorry Pichler and her husband Anthony of Pittsburg, KS; a son, Matthew Billington of Pittsburg, KS; two step-sons, Les Brazeal and his wife Linsey of Lamar, MO, and Brandon Brummett and his wife Jamie of Jasper, MO; two step-daughters, Sigie Crockett and her husband Michael of Lamar, MO, and Kim Stephens of Lawrence, KS; a sister, Ellen Hosier of Garfield, AR; 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Billington, a brother David Billington and a sister Jane Billington.

The Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held January 26, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brenner Mortuary. Private family burial will take place at a later date at the Monmouth Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Angels Among Us and/or the Monmouth Cemetery Fund in memory of Larry Billington.
