William James “Sonny” Barlow November 15, 1944 – February 26, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Mr. William James “Sonny” Barlow Jr., age 74 of Geaton Road in Castleberry, passed away Tuesday evening February 26, 2019 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Barlow was a native and life-long resident of Castleberry and was retired from Container Corporation in Brewton in the Maintenance Dept. He was a member of the London Baptist Church, served in the National Guard and was a member of the Downing Lodge F&AM.
“Sonny” never met a stranger, and was always ready to help anyone that needed help. He loved drinking coffee every morning at “Bobby’s Marathon” and visiting with his friends in which he loved. He loved to sit on the porch and would faithfully listen everyday to the “Phone Ads Show” on 105.
1 WPFL. “Sonny” loved his cat “Tommasina”, and every morning “Tommasina” would make her morning rounds in the house to make sure everyone, especially “Sonny,” was ok. He also loved his fur babies, Doodle, Poncho, Miles, Rascal, Daisy and Greta.
Survivors are his wife, Louise Little Barlow of Castleberry; daughters, Kim (Bo) Sheffield of Mexia; Donna (John) Johnson of Castleberry; step-Son, Robert Little of Mesa, Az; step-daughters, Janet (Danny) Mercer of Mesa, Az, Kathleen (Blaine) Albreacht of Castleberry; sister, Janice (Newton) Downing of Castleberry; 3 grandchildren, Joshua “Josh” Johnson, Lindsey Johnson, Justin Gary; 2 great-granchildren, Garrison Gary, Riley Jo Johnson; 4 step-grandchildren, Joshua Wolfgram, Tabatha Gray, John Mercer, Brittany Albreacht; 3 step-great granchildren, Milay Gray, Sieanna Wolfgram, Emma Gray. Preceded in death by his parents, William James Sr. and Edna Mae Waters Barlow; mother of his children, Ann Barlow; brother, Gerald Barlow; sister, Sandra Calhoun. Visitation will be held Saturday evening March 2, 2019 from 6 until 8 P.M. at Craver’s Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services for Mr. William James “Sonny” Barlow Jr. will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2019 at London Baptist Church with Brother Buddy Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in London Baptist Church Cemetery with CRAVER’S FUNERAL HOME INC. OF BREWTON DIRECTING. Flowers are accepted or contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Cancer Foundation in Newnan, Georgia.
