Larry T Harris, August 03, 1948 — May 13, 2019

Larry T. Harris, age 70, of Grove, OK passed away unexpectedly ‪on Monday, May 13, 2019‬ at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Larry was born on August 3, 1948 to Thomas and Lela (Miller) Harris in Caldwell, Idaho. As a child his family moved to Grove, where he attended school, then graduating from Miami High School class of 1966.

After high school, Larry continued his education at Northeastern A & M college, and later became a lineman for REC. During his 29 years, Larry worked his way up from Lineman to Foreman and then to Assistant Supervisor until suffering a stroke in 2003, which forced his retirement. On March 20, 1970 Larry married the love of his life, Vivian Gray, in Vinita, OK and the couple made their home in Grove.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, an avid reader and enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than any of those activities, Larry loved spending time with his family. His 4 granddaughters were the apple of his eye.

His ornery, fun loving personality made Larry the life of the party wherever he went. His good natured teasing, laughing and sense of humor will be missed dearly by all who know him. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenny Harris.

Left to cherish his memory: wife, Vivian Harris of Grove; daughters: Lisa Dollarhide and husband, Lee of Grove and Keri Gregg and husband, Shane of Monkey Island, granddaughters: Shelby Eveland and husband, Michael, Kayla Dollarhide, Baylee Gregg and Emalee Gregg and one great grandson to arrive in September. Sister, Susan Watts and husband, Randall of Kearney, MO and brother James Harris and wife, Melody of Afton, OK. Visitation for family and friends will be held ‪5-7pm Thursday, May 16, 2019‬ at Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services.

Funeral services will be held ‪at 2pm Friday, May 17, 2019‬ at Grove’s First Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Pasley to officiate.
