Clinton Mr. Larry Thomas Matthis, Sr. 76, of 1032 Kenneth Carter Rd. , passed away Friday, March 1st, 2019 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 3rd, at 3:00PM at Holly Grove Christian Church, 3940 Union School Rd.

, with Rev. Ken Eanes and Rev. Raeford Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born on April 9th, 1942 in Sampson County, Larry was the son of Ruby Dudley Matthis and of the late Edwin Norman “Monk” Matthis. Larry was a member of Holly Grove Christian Church and a retired Parts Manager with Ford Motor Company.

In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife, Mildred Gray Carter Matthis of the home; daughter, Amanda M. Worely and husband, Jeffery of Clinton; son, Larry T. Matthis, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Clinton; three grandchildren: Madeline Murphy and husband, Dalton, Bryson Worley and wife, Camillia, and Kayla Matthis; one great-grandchild, Asher Murphy. In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, James Donald Matthis. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:45PM in the church fellowship hall, or other times at the home.

Royal-Hall is honored to serve the Matthis family.
