Obituary of Larry Miller Larry Miller, age 76, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri. Larry was born February 27, 1942 at home in Laclede county near Decaturville, Missouri to John B. and Sylvia Jane (McGuire). He attended Lebanon public schools and graduated in 1960.

During his high school years, he spent many early mornings taking care of animals and milking cows to earn money to pay for his first car. He also was a member of the FFA. On March 9, 1962 Larry was united in marriage to Verna Rae Winn in her parents’ home in Osage Beach, Missouri.

They shared over 56 years as husband and wife at the time of his death. To this union 4 children were born. As a young adult he enjoyed barrel racing and later taking care of farm animals and his beloved horse Trigger on the family farm.

He worked nearly 50 years in the sporting goods industry, most of those years working for a great friend Jack Dickerson. As a Camdenton community member, he was a founding member of the Camdenton Jaycees, raising money for charities through events such as Donkey Ball. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, watching sports, smoking meats and BBQing.

He is survived by his wife Verna, daughter Sherri Jones (Steve Lucas) of Linn Creek, Todd Miller (Bob Scholes) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Scott (Charlotte) of Montgomery County, Missouri and Michelle Waters (Mike) of Camdenton, Missouri. He loved and enjoyed his 7 grandchildren Danielle Jones, Matthew Jones (Sarah), Katherine Lucas, Ben and Sylvia Miller, Raegan and Reece Waters and 1 great grandson, Silas Dean Jones. Larry is also survived by sisters, Fayedean Barnett of Lebanon, Missouri and Janie Kay West (Larry) of Columbia, Missouri; and many other beloved friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Wilbert, Thomas, Don, Virgil, and his sisters Wilda and Alma Jean, and his granddaughter, Danielle. His family has asked in lieu of flowers, to send cards sharing a favorite memory or photo of Larry throughout the years or to make donations to the charity of donor’s choosing. Services will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.

The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00-3:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.
