LaVerne Aller Streight, 89, of Nampa, passed away peacefully December 19, 2018 at home with his family. LaVerne was born July 11, 1929 to Thomas & E. DeEll Streight in Rapid City, SD. He attended school in Spearfish, SD & Oregon City, OR.

B.A. from Cascade College, M.S. from Oregon College of Education. LaVerne married E. Mardell Grimm June 19, 1948. After 49 years together, Mardell passed away.

LaVerne married Gwendolyn McClung February 19, 2000 in Nampa, ID. LaVerne was a gifted teacher of middle school students for 31 years in Canby, West Linn, & Lake Oswego, OR. LaVerne is survived by his wife Gwen Streight; daughter, Julia (Doug) Bloomquist; son, David (Joy) Streight; daughter Karen (Keith) Horwood; son-in-law, Norm (Cindy) Shively; step-son, Ron (Judy) Galloway; step-daughter; Gwenette (David) Bryant; 4 siblings, 11 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mardell; daughter, Marilee Shively; parents and six siblings. A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on January 4, 2019 at 2 PM at the College Church of the Nazarene, 504 E Dewey Avenue, Nampa, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwest Nazarene University in his name, 623 University Blvd.
