LaVerne Pogmore, 82, of New Castle passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her home. She was born December 15, 1936 in Greensboro to the late Pierce and Beulah (Caldwell) Vaughn. She was a 1954 graduate of Kennard High School and retired from the State of Indiana following nearly 20 years of service.

LaVerne was an avid reader and loved spending time with her children. She is survived by children, Larry Pogmore and Victoria Miller both of New Castle; grandchildren, Chase Miller, Cheyenne Miller of Atlanta, GA; special friend, Annabelle Lefforge. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. A private graveside service will be at South Mound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the LaVerne Pogmore memorial fund c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Dr., New Castle, IN 47362.
