Lawanda Evlynn Williams, 89, of Burlington, passed away at 7:30 AM Saturday, May 11, 2019, at her home in Burlington. Born April 11, 1930, in Texas, she was the daughter of John Huston and Jewel Lee Bridges Chumley. In 1949, she married Billy Gene Williams in Texas.

She was a homemaker. She loved doing yard work, crafting and in her later years spent many enjoyable hours reading good mystery books. Lawanda was a member of the Burlington Baptist Church.

She enjoyed serving breakfast and lunch at the Burlington Community School. Survivors include her brother, Kenneth Chumley (Jeanene); two daughters, Connie (Dan) Boyd of Burlington and Cindy (Wayne) Pruitt of Texas; four grandsons, Jeremy, John, Jason and Justin; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband, Lawanda was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Barry Williams.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. A private family service will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established in her name.
