OBITUARY Lawrence Alphonso Robinson Passed away on September 29, 2018 Lawrence Alphonso Robinson (Larry) was born on March 14, 1933 in St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. His parents were Evelyn Penna and Austin Robinson. He attended elementary school at George Washington in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

He was a graduate from Haaren High School in New York City, New York. The Anglican Church was always important in Larry’s life. He was baptized in March of 1933 and confirmed in September 1945 at All Saints Anglican Church in St. Thomas.

Not only did he attend masses, but he served as an altar boy and in other positions on the altar party. Immediately after graduation from High School, Larry enlisted in the United States Air force on September 30, 1954. He was stationed in the Philippine Islands, Guam, and Puerto Rico in the Pacific Rim.

He also spent time at Ramey, Kadena, Edwards, Clark and Carswell Air Force Bases. Along with his military duties Larry continued to practice his religion and was licensed as sub Deacon to the Chaplain on each base where he served. The Chief of Chaplains United States Air Force presented his faithful servant with the certificate for Meritorious Service.

After more than twenty three years of service, civilian life called to him. Having attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant, Larry retired in 1978 and immediately went to work for Lockheed Martin until his second retirement in 1992. During this time he earned an Associate Degree from Tarrant County Community College.

His next job was more enjoyment than for the work. The Texas Rangers hired him to manage the upper suites at Ranger Stadium and then The Ball Park at Arlington. His third and last retirement was in 1994.

After God and Country, Larry’s passions were watching baseball, horseracing, basketball, and football games. He led Dodger Blue and knew more about the Texas Rangers and baseball than any stat book. With Carswell as his last assignment, Larry and his family moved to Fort Worth and became a communicant at St. Timothy Church in 1965.

It was there he later met and married Olivia in 2003. He remained a faithful communicant until his passing. During his long tenure at St. Timothy, Larry served several times on the Vestry, and he also continued to serve as a Sub-Deacon and other positions in the altar party.

He also became a member of The Society of Mary. When his health no longer permitted him to serve, he chanted the Prayers for the People from the pews. In 2015, The Diocese of Fort Worth honored him with the title Eucharistic Minister Emeritus.

During the spring of 2018 Larry compiled a teaching customary for Deacons and Sub-Deacons in the Anglican Church. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Otis, Roy and Donald, as well as his sister Irma.
