Obituary for Mr. MICHAEL JON “Mike” MOORE TRUMBULL, CT – Michael Jon Moore passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, November 19, 2018. Mr. Moore was 72. SERVICE: A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary of Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briarhaven Road, with a reception to follow at Colonial Country Club.

A private committal service will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to James L. West Alzheimer’s Center, in his memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on May 12, 1946, Mike was the son of Homer Lee and Evelyn Irene Angel Moore.

He graduated from Texas Wesleyan College in 1968 with a degree in business. Mike married Pamela Harper, also of Fort Worth, in 1975; both were graduates of R. L. Paschal High School. Mike served the Fort Worth business community as president of Automatic Sales Company for over 45 years, which included the historic Fort Worth landmark bar, The Oui Lounge, serving Fort Worth residents and TCU students for more than 40 years.

Mike, his wife and children are proud of the cherished recollections shared with friends creating lasting memories, milestone celebrations and longtime friendships inside the doors of The Oui. A member of Colonial Country Club, Mike served on the Tournament Committee, overseeing operations for the championship tournament, in a sport he loved. He was witty, generous, a dedicated friend to many and will lovingly be remembered by lifelong friends and his extended family.

He was passionate about cooking and entertaining; his home was always open to many who loved his sense of humor and welcoming smile. He was an active, dedicated member of Arborlawn United Methodist Church for over 55 years. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

“Pops,” as he was known to his grandchildren, enjoyed living near his children and grandchildren in Trumbull for the past five years. His family would like to thank all of the doctors and others for the many kindnesses shown and care given. SURVIVORS: In addition to his wife, Pam, Mike is survived by daughters, Mindy Moore Borman and her husband, Arthur, and their children, Jack and Avery, of Harrison, NY, Ashlee Moore Wiegand and her husband, Kurt, and their children, Leary and Lee, of Trumbull, CT, and his youngest daughter, Hailee Moore of New Rochelle, NY; brother, Donald Lee Moore and his wife, Gail of Chapel Hill, NC; along with his extended family and many friends.
