Westlund, age 85 of Brick, passed away on December 19, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Brick in 1960.

He worked as a water plant operator at Fort Dix for many years. Lawrence served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was also a member of the American Legion. He is predeceased by his father Edmund Westlund, and by his brothers, Edward and George Westlund.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Catherine Westlund, son George Westlund, daughters; Holly Roselli and Mary Ann Westlund. Also surviving are his 7 grandchildren, Steven, Jesse, Paige, Jake, Christina, Richard T., and Madison; sister-in-law, May Deibel, and nieces, Kathy Haines, and Debby Westlund. The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Thursday from 3-7pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd.

, Brick, NJ 08723. A funeral service will take place Friday, 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
