Lela (Ted)’s Obituary Lela Conner Lela Lee (Ted) Conner age, 92 passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Daybreak Nursing Home in San Saba, Texas by her family in San Saba, Texas. Lela was born to Louie Oliver Myers and Lela Lee Graham on March 20, 1926 in Eastland, Texas. Ted began school in Algerita, Texas by walking from Leonards Ranch where her father was employed.

She later finished school in San Saba. Ted married Ernest Conner on October 20, 1942. They had two children, Larry Gene and Betty Tylene.

Ted was a homemaker and served as a secretary for the feed and pecan business she and her husband operated. Harvesting pecans was an exciting time of year for her. She enjoyed that very much.

Animals were another of pleasure. She always had several dogs and/or cats to care for. In younger years she enjoyed playing forty two dominoes with her friends Ethyl Ivy, Blanche Nichols, and Wilma Spears.

Ted was an excellent cook and provided many meals for family and friends. Her pride joys were her children. They were always well dressed and well fed.

Church and Education were the most significant matters she instilled in her kids. Ted was always supportive of them in all of their endeavors. Lela was a member of Richland Springs Church of Christ.

She attended Church’s of Christ in Skeeterville, Spring Creek, and San Saba. Baptism occurred early in her life in A.D. McKinnerney’s stock tank on his old home place. She believed in the Bible and Jesus Christ her Savior.

Ted was preceded in death by her husband Gene Conner; parents Louie O. Myers and Lela; sister Willabee and Charlie Dove; sister Marie Oliver and husband Owen; brother Arlie Myers and wife Valerie; son-in-law Darel Terry; niece Shirley Perry. She is survived by her son Larry Conner of San Saba, Texas and daughter Betty Terry of Athens, Texas; one granddaughter Dr. Elizabeth O’Brien and husband Jody of Athens, Texas; one great-grandson Case O’Brien of Athens, Texas; nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Richland Springs Church of Christ from 1:00-2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Marvin Whittt officiating.

Interment will follow at Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs, Texas. Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas in charge of arrangements.
