Richard Nathaniel Moore was born on Thursday, July 21, 1938 in Shiloh, Texas to L.D. and Ella Jones-Moore. Richard accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and began his Christian education at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He attended and graduated from Freeman High School in Caldwell, Texas.

He entered into holy matrimony with his high school sweetheart Betty J. Harrison on August 23, 1957, and to this union was born three children. Richard was employed for forty years with Superior Cable, Brownwood, Texas where he was affectionately known as “Bubba”. He served as a final tester in the testing department.

Upon moving to Brownwood, Richard joined Little Zion Baptist Church and served faithfully until his health declined. Richard faithfully served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, a choir member and Baptist Training Union officer during his many years at Little Zion. Richard leaves to cherish his memories, wife Betty J. Moore; son David Wayne Moore (Cheryl) of Brownwood, Texas; and daughters Carolyn Ann Green (Windell) of Bastrop, Texas and Vivian Denise Washington (Robert) of Cedar Creek, Texas.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory grandchildren LaTasha Love Moore of Ballinger, Texas, Patrick (Jami Feltner) Williams of Arlington, Texas, Kheyera Taeon Washington and NaKiva Aston Washington of Cedar Creek, Texas, and Zachary O’Neil Green of Bastrop, Texas, Melanie Majors of Arlington, Texas, Micah (Elizabeth)Ripley and Candice Bowles of Brownwood, Texas, and Jeremy (Danyelle)Ellett of Austin, Texas. In addition, he leaves three great-grandchildren Devin and Amara Harris of Ballinger, Texas, Isaiah Guillotte and Rico Bowles of Brownwood, Texas and Anfernee Williams of Arlington, Texas. Richard was preceded in death by both parents (L.D. and Ellen Moore).

Also preceding him in death were three brothers, L. D. Moore, Jr., James Moore and Milton Moore and sisters Shirley (Moore) Pace and Alice Mae (Moore) Mason. Richard also leaves his siblings and their family to cherish his memories: Ruby (Willie) Capers of Los Angeles, California, Bennie Baker of Houston, Texas, Sarah (Chester) Canady, Ella (Herman) Nelson, William Moore of Caldwell, Texas, Rickey (Cynthia) Moore of Cypress, Texas, Terzine Rogers of Manor, Texas, Elizabeth Moore of Houston, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
