Lemerle Kersey Whitfield of Swainsboro August 13, 1923 – February 3, 2019 2/3/2019 Lemerle Kersey Whitfield, 95, resident of Swainsboro, died Sunday morning at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home. Lemerle was born in Johnson County, daughter of the late Berry Leon Beasley and Sarah Missouri Beasley. She was an excellent seamstress and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph H. Kersey and Aaron Whitfield, and 2 sons Dr. Leon Donald Kersey and Pastor Roger Keith Kersey. Lemerle was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Lemerle Kersey Whitfield will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from Union Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Sam Bowen officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
