Marietta Smith Palmer of Adrian, Georgia April 14, 1919 – May 26, 2019 5/26/2019 Mrs. Marietta Smith Palmer, 100, passed away Sunday May 26, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Palmer was one of seven children born to the late Angus Gillis Smith and Nancy Lula Barwick Smith of Norristown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roscoe Palmer, her parents, 3 brothers-Charlie Smith, Clifton Smith, and Leon Smith, 3 sisters–Lillie Mae Hooks, Artie Lou Foskey Irvin, and Matilda Meadows, grandson- Ryan Ruffin, greatgrandson-Jeremy Braswell and son in law- Leonard Stevens.

Mrs. Palmer was the oldest member of the Norristown Baptist Church. She joined the church in 1964 and was elected Church Treasurer in 1965. She served for 45 years as the church treasurer.

Marietta was well known for her delicious poundcakes. Funeral services for Mrs. Marietta Smith Palmer will be held Wednesday ,May 29, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Hal Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.

Zion Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Chris Braswell, Barry Braswell, Jarred Chalker, Mike Foskey, Al Palmer and Hugh Walker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Norristown Baptist Church ,902 Keas Old Mill Pond Rd.

Adrian,GA 31002 or Mt. Zion Church Cemetery Fund, Hwy 221 S., Adrian,GA 31002 in memory of Mrs. Marietta Smith Palmer. The Family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00A.M. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.
