Leona’s Obituary Leona Marie Eschete Cormier, 86, passed away on January 11, 2019. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00AM until service time.

Funeral services will begin on Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home at 11:00AM with burial following in Grace Christian Memorial Gardens. Leona is survived by her husband, Edmond Cormier; she is survived by six step-children; many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leona is preceded in death by her parents, Delmar Eschete and Judy Guillot Eschete.

She is also preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Leona had the gift of music and shared her love of the Lord in her music ministry, “The One Who Cares Ministry” through Temple of Praise Church in the several assisted living facilities since they began in 1990. Leona was a kind and generous person who was always ready to give a hand to anybody in need.

She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them; most especially her grandchildren. She also shared her faith and time in her church community. Leona will be sadly missed by her family and friends; but she will never be forgotten.
