Mass of Christian Burial is on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 11 am with time of sharing starting at 9 am, all at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 218 W 2nd St., Chaska. Leona was born on February 9, 1933 in Carver, to Mathias and Lucille (Benz) Jacobs.

She was one of nine children. She was baptized and confirmed at St Nicholas Catholic Church in Carver and graduated from Chaska High School. On June 17, 1952 Leona married Alfred Pierson at St Nicholas Catholic Church.

They had three children. Leona was a lifelong member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church and also a lifetime member of the Chaska VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed watching birds, knitting, reading, and puzzles.

Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, parents and many brothers and sisters. Survived by children, Charlie (Kari) of Chaska, Shirley Hewitt of Chaska and Terry Pierson of Chaska; 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; brother, Matt (Judy), sisters, Lucy, Marcelene, Margaret and Diane.
