Leonard A. Doucet, 88, died September 29th at his home in Norton, MA, after a short illness. Mr. Doucet was born on November 6, 1929, in Melrose to John Lawrence Doucet and Elizabeth (Babin) Doucet. He studied part-time in the evenings and achieved an Associate’s degree in Engineering at Northeastern University and went on to make enormously consequential contributions to the medical profession and technology.

He married the late Patricia A. (Trundy) Peabody in 1965. He was a ham radio operator, enjoyed photography and all things technological, and worked for Augat Inc. in Attleboro as an inventor in electronics for many years. He was very sociable and made numerous friends who will lament his passing.

His brother, Joseph Doucet, writes this in his memory, “Lenny was always upbeat and fun to be with. He made you feel special. Everyone would question him because he knew a lot about different topics.

He will truly be missed”. He is survived by his sister, Estelle (Doucet) Pothier, (husband deceased William Pothier), brother, Joseph A. Doucet & wife Patricia L. Doucet, and brother John Doucet Jr. Nieces and nephews: Paul Pothier & wife MaryEllen of Wilmington, Thomas Pothier & wife Robin of Tewksbury, Peter Pothier & wife Debbra of Townsend, Suzanne Olszak & husband John of Danvers, Joanne Catizone & husband Dante of Tewksbury, Roxanne Bournazian & husband Harry of Franklin, Leanne Guzman & husband Ignacio of Everett, Karen Edgett Doucet & husband John L. Edgett, Diane Doucet White, Steve Doucet & wife Maureen Doucet, Cheryl Doucet Henry & husband Peter Henry, Mitchell Doucet & wife Lucia Doucet, Michelle Doucet Serino & husband Christopher Serino, Dennis Doucet & wife Janice Doucet, Linda Doucet, Joyce Bettano, John Doucet III, and 13 great-nieces and nephews. Step-children: Susan Hallahan & husband Edward, Dennis Peabody, Joan Kirylo, Lisa Azeni & husband Hocine.

Step-grandchildren: Michael LaCroix & wife Kimberly, Stephanie LaCroix Howe & husband Timothy, Ashor Azeni, and Brahim Azeni. Step-great-grandchildren: Bruce LaCroix and Cameron Howe. At his request, funeral and committal services will be private.
