Leroy Lemke February 16, 1951 – December 29, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Christian Biography of LeRoy L Lemke LeRoy Louis Lemke, the son of John and Frieda (Marcotte) Lemke, was born on February 16, 1951 in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on December 29, 2018 at the Elms Health Care Center at Ponca, Nebraska at the age of 67 years, 10 months, 13 days. He was one of eight children.

Leroy spent much of his time when he was younger with his cousin, Terry, and together they developed a special bond. They enjoyed playing pool and riding around in the truck they named, Ol’ Red. Leroy loved spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with his family and looked forward to it every year.

In 2008, Leroy moved to Elms Health Care Center in Ponca, Nebraska where he was living at the time of his death. Leroy was an avid fan of Nebraska Football and loved to watch the games. Leroy had a very caring and loving soul.

He adored the time he got to spend with family and will forever be remembered by all those who knew him. Leroy was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Elmer and mother Frieda, and his sister, Charlotte, niece Heather Schommer, and nephews, Jeromie Lemke and Jason Karst. He is survived by his brothers Vince Lemke of Geneva, Delbert (Pam) of Deshler, Ronald Lemke of Hebron, Frank Lemke of Geneva as well as two sisters, Sharon (Troy) Lewis of Geneva and Ann Lemke of Lincoln, Nebraska.

He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10:30 am with the Rosary being recited at 10:00 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Fr. Ferdinand Boehme officiating.

Recorded music selections were “Amazing Grace,” “Jealous Of The Angels,” and “Home”. Visitation starting at 9:00 before his funeral service. Pallbearers were Delbert Lemke, Lonnie Lemke, Roger Lemke, Terry Lemke, Brian Lemke and Troy Lewis.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to go to the family Condolences may be sent to Megrue-Price Funeral Home, 750 N Commercial, Superior, Nebraska 68978 or in care of www. pricefuneralhomes.com.
